In this hardscaping challenge, the existing house and pool were poorly integrated. The pool area sits well below the main level of the home, and leads to separate theaters of living. The objective was to create decking and hardscaping that tied the two together more seamlessly, providing easier access and flow between the two areas. One particular challenge was an existing slope that separated one end of the house from the pool area.

By creating tiers of seating and entertainment areas that flowed down to the pool area, it takes advantage of the existing slope and creates a cascading entertainment and spa area that connects and draws the two areas together into one seamless outdoor living space.  There are areas for dining, conversation, as well as lounging, all clustered around the pool.  As a backdrop, dramatic landscaping was added around and on the opposite side of the pool.
